A Guide to Dehumidifier Rental

A Guide to Dehumidifier Rental

If you have a temporary need for a commercial grade dehumidifier, than a dehumidifier rental is the right choice for you.  Rather than spending a lot of money on buying a machine you only need for a short period of time, you can rent one and use it for as long as you need it.  A dehumidifier rental is perfect for if you have had water damage or mold and need to reduce the humidity level while you clean it up, or for temporary spaces that you have rented for projects and need to reduce the humidity in.

Dehumidifier rentals are not usually for the basic home units that you would pick up at a home improvement store.  Instead they usually are for the much more powerful and larger commercial units that can handle bigger jobs.  Small dehumidifiers might be great for regular use in a humid basement to prevent mold, but if you have a larger space or need more powerful dehumidifying, than a dehumidifier rental of a commercial unit is the best way to go.

There are a number of different places you can located a dehumidifier rental.  In most cities, a major home improvement store like The Home Depot or Lowe’s will most likely offer these units for rent.  Some specialized rental places that offer various types of equipment will also be a good place to find a dehumidifier rental.  It’s best to call around and get some information on the type of equipment that is available for rent and what the cost is.

If you need a dehumidifier rental for only a day or two, then a place that rents by the day is a good choice, but if you need it for longer, you might want to find a place that offers a weekly rental rate in order to save you some money.  Daily rentals can quickly add up otherwise.

If you need a long-term dehumidifier rental for your business, you will probably want to go with one of the specialty rental places rather than a home improvement store.  Most of the dehumidifier rentals found at home improvement stores are short term rentals and will cost you too much to keep.  Places that specialize in this type of dehumidifier rental are often able to give a better long term rate.  However, if your needs are truly long term than you will probably want to consider purchasing the unit, as soon the rental cost will add up to the purchase price otherwise.

A dehumidifier rental allows you to use the equipment you need when you need it without a huge output of cash such as would be needed to purchase one.  For temporary use, this is the best financial option.  You can find dehumidifier rentals at reasonable rates in just about any area if you shop around a bit.  Before you take on a rental, however, add up the rental cost and decide if you might be better off simply purchasing the unit in question – sometimes it might be make more sense.
