A Guide to Liposuction Without Surgery

A Guide to Liposuction Without Surgery

Getting rid of excess body fat is a goal most of us have, but not everyone is willing to go under the knife to make it happen.  For those seeking the results of liposuction without surgery there are a few alternatives that can help get rid of that fat without the risks.  Liposuction without surgery is technically not liposuction at all, but it is often termed this way because it gives similar results to liposuction.

One of the exciting developments in the field of liposuction without surgery is a procedure known as LipoDissolve, which is similar to a long used procedure in Europe known as mesotherapy.  These two procedures involve the use of  an injection of special compounds that actually dissolve the fat deposits without any surgery at all.  This is truly the closest that you can get to having liposuction without surgery.  LipoDissolve uses a combination of a medication and enzymes while mesotherapy uses amino acids to achieve similar results.  LipoDissolve is quickly becoming the more popular procedure because there is less down time and the results are remarkable.  It is especially popular for toning around the face and in other delicate spots where liposuction would not be as effective.

Another choice for getting the results of liposuction without surgery is a procedure known as Thermage.  This non invasive technique for reducing the appearance of fat uses a heated laser to essentially melt away the fat from outside.  It tightens collagen and is a great choice for toning the skin and creating a firmer look.  While it won’t remove large amounts of fat, it is great for reducing double chins and other toning around the face.

There are a number of other treatments and procedures designed to reduce the appearance of cellulite and smooth the skin.  Some of these use massage, creams, and infrared light treatments, but none of them can truly achieve the same results as liposuction.

As previously mentioned, liposuction without surgery is not really liposuction at all; true liposuction actually removes the fat from beneath the surface of the skin, and the only way to truly do this is by the use of a cannula, a small tube through which the fat is sucked out.  But as the science of cosmetic surgery advances, there are more and better options for getting very similar impressive results as you would see from liposuction without surgery of any kind.  Still, for those looking to have a lot of work done and wanting the best possible results, liposuction remains the procedure of choice.

For those who want a non-invasive procedure however and are willing to take slightly less impressive results for the benefit of avoiding long recovery times and of course the many risks of liposuction surgery, the above procedures are all good choices.  The best thing to do is to make an appointment with your cosmetic surgeon and talk about all the possible ways to achieve the look of liposuction without surgery.  This way you can determine just which of the options is best for you.
