Where to Find the Best Cheap Notepads

Whether you’re a student, business professional, homemaker, or even a blue-collar worker you cannot deny the daily demand you have for writing paper, and while it’s true that some writing tasks are more suited for pricey or specialized paper, most of the tasks for which you require paper can probably be accomplished just as well using a cheap notepad.  In this article we will introduce you to the various types of cheap notepads available and provide some information on where you can find just the right notepads to suit your individual needs.

Why Go with a Cheap Notepad?

With the popularity of the Internet and computers in general, most writing tasks these days are performed using a keyboard, mouse and a screen, but there are some writing tasks for which this mode of written communication is not practical.  For example, when you need to make a shopping list for a trip to the grocery store, you’re probably not inclined to take your expensive laptop into the store, nor do you want to take the time to type up a grocery list and print it out.  Instead you probably reach for the closest piece of paper and beginning jotting things down.  All of us, at least at some point every day, have need of a cheap notepad for something, and fortunately there are many styles of cheap notebooks to choose from.

Types of Cheap Notepads

For everyday writing tasks it makes no sense to spend oodles of money on designer notepads or glossy paper.  After all, you’re not writing a resume or a term paper, so why not go with a cheap notepad instead.  If you tend to agree with this logic, below are just a few of the many choices you have:

  • Yellow Legal Pads.  Yellow legal pads, whether you decide to go with the 8 ½ by 14 or the 8 ½ by 11 size, are perfect for tasks such as your daily “Things to do” list or a materials list for an upcoming construction job.
  • Spiral Notebooks.  If you’re looking for a more traditional notepad, one that opens like a book, you can’t go wrong with a spiral notebook.  These types of notepads are perfect for the student taking class notes or for keeping a permanent journal.
  • Memo Pads.  Memo notepads are much smaller than the standard notebook (some will fit very nicely in your pocket or purse) and are perfect for things like grocery lists, addresses and phone numbers.
  • Perforated Notepads.  Perforated notepads are great when you need to remove the pages without a tangled mess of paper.  These notepads can be used when you want to forego email for a change and compose a handwritten letter to a friend.
  • Post-It Notes.  Whoever came up with the idea for the Post-it note must have been a genius.  Millions of these tiny adhesive notepads are sold every year and they have become the preferred solution, both at the office and at home, for leaving quick little reminder notes where they’ll be noticed.

Where to Find the Best Cheap Notepads

If you’re looking for the best deal on notepads, you’ll probably want to steer clear of expensive stationery stores.  Instead try shopping at one of the places listed below:

  • Online.  The truth is that everything is cheaper online if you know where to look.  Paper outlets can sell their product cheaper online because it eliminates the need of a paid employee to assist you.
  • Discount Stores.  Large discount stores, because they deal largely in bulk, can usually offer great prices on notepads.  Try shopping at places like Walmart, Target and Costco if you want the best possible deal.
  • Office Supply Stores
  • School Supply Stores

Stop paying more than you have to for your notepad needs.  Try shopping at one of the places mentioned above and you can save plenty of money in the long run.
